Take the time Apr 10, 2013
When you travel with your own car to the Nordkapp in the Northern part of Norway and you have enough time, I will recommend you to take your time to visit the Nordkapp.
Most of the tourist drive in one straight line to the Nordkapp, take a look around over there for some hours and than go back.
But when you have the time, drive into side streets of the main street to the Nordkapp. Than you will arrive in beautiful sceneries and lovely villages. One of the beautiful landscapes is the 'Kirkeporten'. This is a rock formation in the shape of a gate and has been made by the nature through the years.
Another option is to visit Honningsvag or Gjesvaer (both towns are located at the end of one of the side streets of the E69) both villages shows typically Norwegian houses and have there own harbour.
Especially during summer you can take your time to visit the most Northern part of Norway, because then you have the midnight sun (there will be no night for a few days).
