Norbu Linka Hotel Kathmandu

When I went to Nepal I stayed a few days in Kathmandu in hotel Norbu Linka. This hotel has a great location to explore this big city. Directly behind the hotel is the touristic shopping area Thamel, with many streets to buy all the souvenirs you like to have. Spending a few hours here is easy, but bring some money and bargain until you're having an acceptable price. A little further, but still in walking distance is Durbar Square. Kathmandu's temple area. Many temple are located here and there is much to see.
If you take a taxi or riksja, which both is an adventure on its own, you can go to the monkey temple Swayanabath, on a hill on the western edge of Kathmandu. You have a great view of the city.
In early morning when the trafic is light, it's only 15 minutes to the airport. Later on the day it's not more then 25 minutes.
The service in the hotel is amazing. 24h is the kitchen open and is some one at the service desk, some one to carry your bagage to your room and a guard at the door to welcome you. Internet is avaible in the office of the managere for free.
The manager and desk crew speak English very well. If you want any information ask them and not somebody else who works in the hotel. They don't understand or you get a wrong answer. Every one in the hotel is very polite and helpful.
If you do a round trip you can leave your bagage you don't need in the storage room and there are small lockers for your valuable things.
I would definitely go back to this hotel if I would go back to Kathmandu.
