Noosa Vacation Guide
A couple of hour's drive north of Brisbane, Noosa is part of the Sunshine Coast area of Queensland. The region consists of several suburbs, including Noosa Heads, Noosaville, Sunshine Beach, Sunrise Beach and Tewantin.
The major tourist hotspot for those coming to the area is in and around Hastings Street in Noosa Heads. Lined with restaurants and playing host to an annual jazz festival, Hastings Street is also right on the beach. The Noosa National Park is about a five minute walk from there, providing stunning cliff and ocean views along hiking trails, access to more remote beaches, as well as the chance to glimpse a koala if you look hard enough.
Noosa and many of the surrounding regions have been given Aboriginal names or adaptions... Noosa means shadow or shadey place.

Noosa is a great place, when you get to a roundabout, in Little Cove, opposite the only information centre, take a left turn and drive up Hastings street, where all the fancy restaurants and pubs are. You soon realise that Noosa is a place for rich people, many estate agents are making a fort…

This was definitely one of my most memorable trips when living in Oz! We took off for a 2 day trip, 19k paddle to get to our campsite- and when we finally got there and were starved- we realized we forgot the pots to cook our pasta in! And there were no other campers at our site- so we ate pasta sauce and a can of corn- after 6 hrs of paddling- and were doing a 12k hike in the am, and another 19k paddle back against the wind!! Trip 2 remember! We went straight for food as soon as we got back!!
