Arrived back in Nongkhai in time for the 60th birthday party of the founder of T2T. Was fun. Had traditional thai orchestra and dancers, the music is growing on me but still not my favourite. Spent the week teaching at a summer camp at Meechia school, but only a few hours each morning so not too much. Katy and Laura are here, came to visit for 3 days which has been so good. Is great to see them and show them round. Saw all the sights and of course Bar Nanas, the quality thai club! They leave...

13th March 2008DAY 6:We woke up at 9.30am, after a pretty bad nights sleep, why the hell don't they turn off the lights? And why do sodding kids insist on waking up at the crack of dawn, chill out for christs sake! More beer was obviously needed last night but the beer lady got locked out of our carriage at 1am - nooooo! I managed to slump out of my top bunk when the guy came to fold up all the beds and I attempted to get more sleep on the seats below, which didn't really work out. We ne...

She handed me something, the check for the beers and food last night. Oops, I had completely forgotten that we haven't paid yet so I sorted it out. Haha! A few minutes past 9, the train stopped and all of us thought (including the Westerners) we're already in Nong Khai so we got all busy grabbing our bags but W...

24th July 2007 DAY 53: Joe was already up by the time I got home. He was wondering where the fuck I had gone as it was 8.30am! I went to sleep for a while until 1.30pm, then we got a tuk tuk to the station for our bus at 2pm. Well. Someone forgot to tell us this is the longest bus journey ever! Countless stops and micro-sleeps later we arrived in Udonthani. 14 hours had passed, and it was, well, tomorrow. Summary of travelling day 53: Seriously?
