Nomads Capital Hotel Wellington
Nomads Capital Hotel Wellington Reviews
Great location May 02, 2008
I stayed here twice on my trip to New Zealand, I liked it that much.
It's in a great location: there are bars, restaurants and cafes within five-ten minutes' walk. The hostel is connected to a bar, where you get some free drinks and a discounted meal on your first night - you get some tokens on checking-in. Lots of PCs with internet access, through Global Gossip cards (you can get an account with them, as G.G are pretty popular in the hostels). They have a TV room, kitchen, laundry and a storage room. Security is really good with access cards to the front door, rooms and access to blocks. The front-desk can arrange travel and sight-seeing (got to see those Hobbits, right?!) I stayed here after staying at the Fat Camel Hostel in Auckland (both Nomads Backpackers). I expected the same standard of place and was both pleasantly surprised and a little disappointed when i arrived here.
I was pleasantly surprised because the hostel is beautiful, it feels more like a good small hotel. The rooms were exceptionally clean and tidy and the facilities were right up to scratch. The only reason I was disappointed is because the atmosphere is not quite the same as their hostel in Auckland. The bar is almost as cheap and the menu was unbelievable but you can feel a bit out of place as a backpacker; it's not really a backpackers bar; it's full of suits!!! Other than that I had a very enjoyable stay and the staff were really helpful. |
