Nomade Antibes Reviews
A Man of Letters Jan 03, 2012
This is an odd and frequently missed sculpture that overlooks the Mediterranean sea right by the yachts and the old part of Antibes. Antibes is not well known for this sculpture (what with all the Picasso works overshadowing everything).
I know that it was created by artist Jaume Plensa and that there are a few other replica statues in Spain and Iowa. This is a nice place to go to during the day. You can see the sculpture and at the same time, take in the views around you of the Mediterranean, the fortress, and the yachts.
This statue is a lot cooler closeup when you can see the big letters and at night when it's brightly lit, though I'm not sure if you can actually get to it. I think they lock the gates at night.
Best of all, this attraction is free to see. You can touch it, sit on the inside, and take in the scenery- all free of charge.
