For the first two nights we stayed in Hostel Nomadas, which was pretty poor. It's not that bad compared to some hostels, but when you compare it to where we're staying now it's terrible. All cultural and commercial activities of Merida take place near Nomadas Hostel:
You can find Paseo Montejo (Main Avenue) only 3 blocks away, where the Fiesta Mexicana is celebrated every Saturday evening. You can also find around here 'The Anthropology Museum'; Santa Lucia Park (2 blocks) where you can enjoy free Folklore Dances and serenades. Museums, bars, theatres, supermarkets, migration office, American Express and banks are just 3 or 4 blocks from the Hostel.
