Nolsoy Overview

Nolsoy is the name of a small island near to and accessible, by passenger ferry, from Torshavn on Streymoy. There is an old truck on Nolsoy and an ancient car which seems to be used as a taxi when people return from their shopping trips. Nolsoy is the name of the island's village as well. It has a shop and a couple of places to eat.

The island is probably most visited for late evening trips to the colony of storm petrels, one of the world's largest. These are led by the resident taxidermist who provides sleeping accommodation as it is too late for the ferry, by the time the trip ends.

The far side of Nolsoy, when seen from Torshavn is not only where the puffinry and petrelry (?) are to be found but it is most impressive for its cliffs and stacks.
