Nobis Hotel Stockholm Reviews
Awesome hotel in Stockholm city center Nov 08, 2011
Last time I was in Stockholm and staying at Berns Hotel I noticed a hotel just next to the Normalmstorg that was less than 100 meter away. The hotel was the Hotel Nobis and situated at the single most attractive spot in downtown Stockholm.
I keep the hotel in mind for my next trip and as the price was fair I booked it. The hotel opened up 1 December 2010 and offers 201 rooms, exclusive meeting rooms, Italian restaurant Caina, bistro, lounge and Gold Bar, in a stylish design by leading Swedish architects Claesson Koivisto Rune. When I entered the hotel I had no idea of what to expect; I did not even know that it was a design hotel.
I arrived at around 10 pm and the entrance looked really nice with a carpet going down to the pavement from the automatic doors that opened as you approached them. At the end of the stairs there was a young man standing making sure that you were going in the right direction. From the entrance of the hotel you could enter the hotel but also the bistro, their restaurant, the awesome lounge or the bar.
I was expected at the reception desk and it did not take many minutes before I was given a key to my room 326 on the 3rd floor. The hall where the elevators were situated was beautiful with a rounded stairway up to the hotel. At the third floor my room was situated at the end of the hall going round the giant lounge area situated in the roof covered inner courtyard. The hall was in a soft brown nuance with dimmed lighting that gave it a classy look without being anything special.
I opened the room to my door and I was really pleased with what I found. The room was large and the ceiling was at least 4 meters away from the floor. There were two huge windows fronting the amazing inner court where a giant lamp was dominating the space in the air. In the middle of the room there was a great double bed with a really nice and large headboard. The top of the headboard was polished and reflected like a mirror, which gave a good effect. The walls were painted in soft grey and all the wooden furniture were in dark brown colors.
In the corner there were a low chair and table with a huge lamp hanging from the wall. There was a huge flat screen standing on a pedestal, which was a really nice feature. In front of it there was a floor puff and in the corner there was a small desk. In the corner of the room next to the bed there was huge glow ball on the floor. Next to the entrance there was a closet with nice patterned doors and inside the mini bar was situated.
The bathroom was really nice in grey marble and the sink was a piece of art, not very functional but quite nice looking at. In the corner there was a nice shower with loads of power on the water, which is really nice. The whole concept was quality and everything was really nice.
Everybody at the reception or wherever you met them was really nice and service minded. The food in the bistro was great at judging by the number of people it was a very popular place to dine or relax in the bar or the lounge. It was a wonderful hotel and I am sure I will be back.
