 Value and location in central TIrana Feb 26, 2009
Hotel Nobel is on a partially paved side street behind the Tirana International Hotel. There are several cafes and bars between the main steet and the hotel. It's easy to find and quite convenient to the bus and train station (10 minute walk). Also, it's just off Skandenberg Square (town center). The staff is friendly and speak some English but, not alot. You need to keep the questions simple. My room was generous in size and nicely furnished. The bath was small but clean and hot water was plentiful. The bed was comfortable. The cable doesn't offer any channel in English, if you might want to watch tv or get news. Breakfast is included and is Balkans basic ( hard-boiled egg, sliced meat, toast, cheese, coffee or tea, juice) It's definitely a value choice in central Tirana.

I check into my hotel (Hotel Nobel). It's a 2 star that's really a 2 star hotel on a side street of the main square. It's a bit better than basic and impressive given the fact that it's location is fantastic and it is cheap.

The next morning after a five-course
breakfast courtesy of the Hotel Nobel (the final course was a plate
of sliced banana) we were off to see the sights. Even at 10am, it was
hot and sticky outside but the sun was shining brightly. First port
