No Noodles

…showcased in several food shows as having the best place for this particular dish - fried pieces of white fish served with rice noodles, peanuts and veggies.  The original (and best) is located at 14 Cha Ca - there are many imposters so don't be fooled!  We were warned the place was a dive and the service is pretty bad to we readied ourselves for bad treatment… Hanoi - prettier, more touristy and a different kind of motorcycle chaos...

  Then we went to eat some lunch of noodles with some meat in soup thing.  It was pretty good.  After our errands, we were finally ready to see the sites of Hanoi.  We wanted to see the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum but it was already closed for the day, so we went… Finally in Hanoi

After a day walking around we found a little lady sitting in what looked to be the entrance of her building, cooking up noodle soup - and it was the best noodle soup I've ever tasted! We got a BIG bowl of soup and a large Singha beer each - all for A$5. And even though we were literally sitting on tiny little chairs, in the middle of the street… Food, scams, and..................did I mention food!

…After bidding farewell to one of our travelmates, the rest of us set off in search of the elusive Phở (the signature Vietnamese Noodle Soup).  Unbeknownst to us, apparently the Vietnamese don't eat too much Phở during Tết... and one of our most anticipated highlights was to eat some genuine Vietnamese Phở IN Vietnam (therein lies the quandry).  After scouring the city… Tết, Phở and Uncle Ho

I had Beef Noodle as my breakfast this morning around 7.30 and waiting for my travel agent to pick me up at 8 am. The beef noodle was the only food i could eat in Hanoi. haha. So, the tour guide arrived and i was taken to her minibus… Hanoi - Day 2
