No Bars Rutherford Reviews
Dry Town May 13, 2008
"Dry town?" you ask.
Yes, Rutherford, NJ is a dry town. There are liquor stores, but not bars. You can bring a bottle of wine to dinner, but you cannot buy it by the glass.
There is a bar in the one hotel, but you will not find anyone local there. I have actually never been there at all. We (the townies) venture into surrounding towns or hop on the train to Hoboken or the city (NYC).
We are on a NJ Transit line. The train runs from Rutherford to the Secaucus Junction. At the Junction you can get off and take another train right into Penn Station (NYC), it takes about 15-20 minutes. You can also stay on the first train and take it to Hoboken. It is about the same length of time. In Hoboken you can hop on the PATH which will also take you into the city.
So even though we do not have our "own" bars, we do know how to party!
