A must see place. Nizwa is the place where you can see and feel the old culture. What I liked is the way they have preserved the old forts which make you feel that you are in the 16th century. The Souk, the old fort and the UNESCO maintained Bahla fort..Really awesome trip, worth going and its very cheap to get there.

Nizwa is 160 kms away from the capital city of Muscat, Oman. It costed me 11 USD for an up and down trip to NIzwa. It will be good if you spend for a 4 wheel drive for rent and go to Jabal Al Akdhar which is another awesome place to visit. What makes you so surprised is that the way the climate drops down the moment you take a turn to Jabal Al Akdhar...The more you go towards the mountain the more it becomes cold...

If you are visiting GCC then you should never miss Nizwa, if you miss then that's a real loss for you.

Feel free to contact me if you have any queries with regard to the trip to Nizwa and places to hang out.

I can't add more than 20 photos here so here is the link if you want to see the whole
