The Nissan Pavilion Sep 01, 2008
The Nissan Pavilion is a popular outdoor rock, pop, and country music concert venue for the greater Washington, DC, region. Every summer between May and September the Nissan Pavilion hosts major bands and solo artists as their Washington, DC, tour stop and most name artists have appeared here. All-day festivals such as Warp Tour, Ozzfest, and Mayhem Festival with side stages are often held on the large property. The summer season begins in May with WMZQ Fest hosted by a Washington radio station. Both covered reserved seating and open outdoor lawn seating are available. A popular concert will often draw a capacity crowd of 25,000 concert-goers.
Check the web site for upcoming concerts and artist appearances. The street address gives the location as Bristow, VA, but the Nissan Pavilion is actually located between Manassas and Gainesville, about 40 miles (65km) from Washington, DC. Prince William County has improved the access roads over the last few years so that even sold out concerts are able to exit the venue in a reasonable time.
