Located just outside the tourist area, this is a wonderful haven for travellers to Bangkok. The rooms are decently priced and wonderfully air conditioned, a clean towel is provided, and there is an electricity source and light next to your bed. I really didn’t want to stay in the Khoa San area, so this hostel's location on Mahachai Road was perfect. Apart from the aforementioned benefits, the hostel’s customer service is its best feature. All of the staff are super friendly and don’t make you feel like another number. Their loyalty is definitely geared to helping you, and not milk you for more money. For example, the staff will recommend great transport routes, the best off-the-track shopping areas, the best ways to tourist spots and so forth. All of this makes for a great Bangkok experience and ensures that you get the most out of your Baht. The hostel also serves great coffee and cakes, is located near a 7-Eleven, and one of those ultra-efficient internet cafes is next door.

Overall, I was very impressed with this place and would highly recommend it to anyone. During any trip, you will have a rare encounter with hotels/hostels that make you feel as if you have come home. For me, Niras Bankoc is one of those places.
