Night walk in Mexico Travel Reviews

Oct 15, 2004
When we placed ourselves in the Century hotel in Mexico City, we decided to have a short "night walk", because we were staying there only one night and felt sorry not to see at least a little bit of Mexico by night.
But, later we figured it out that it was not such a good idea.
Before we ran out like a bunch of bulls in Corida in Pamplona, hungry for the adventure, we took away all of our jewerly, cams, and everything that could indicate that we are tourist. Security thing. The situation was pretty good, and that lasted exactly TWO MINUTES after we left the hotel. Yeah, so much time, I know. After that hotel dissapeared from our view, it all became a little bit, how would I say, freaky. Spooky.
Weird faces without tooths, with crazy look in their eyes smiling at me, saying slightly but secure "mamacitaaaa", together with nice but suspective girls with not so many, almost without any close on them, two guys doing some secret job, no one should know about it, not even suspect what they might be doing...
You know what I mean when I say that a Halloween is a teen comedy versus this??
So, with all that fear inside of us, we paniced if we are going to survive at all. But finally, salvation came - a nice, cousy restaurant in front of us, that was open all night! We prayed afew Hail Mary's to get there safe and secure, those 20 meters of the way left. And, thank God, we survived. That was our night walk. Don't try this! :))

Oh, and by the way, don't ask me how we returned back to the hotel...

ekthor says: Mexico City counts with several types of public transportation and one of them is the Metrobus. Its name says it all really, it is a bus that works like a metro(subway).
