Gothic glamour Dec 22, 2010
Was amazed at my location when i got there did not realise it was slap bang on top of Times square!!! Not that i was complaining! I think for this alone i would pay what id di for this hotel.
Hotel was lovely just dark at all times, but suppose that was in keeping in with the scheme! Staff very helpful just wish i had spoken to the staff more once i had arrived as they offered to get me things i couldnt get in the city. Felt very welcomed and as its not a big chain your not just looked on as a number. Room was cleaned daily and if you had used all your bathroom bits like hair shampoo/conditioner they just replace them for you and they are designer: Molton brown which is a bonus! Bed was very comfy, cushions were lovely clean and fresh. TV worked fine for my evening snoozing and the hair con worked great and dint even make my skin dry. Breakfast was ample there were crossaints and corn muffins which were weird but i got used to them, as much tea/coffee or juice as you like, set me up lovely for each day! Very happy!

Night, black and white all over Sep 23, 2009
This is an interesting hotel, Goth-inspired, they call it. It's ultra modern, everything is black and white, and sleek. The price is Manhattan price, expensive, but at least the room isn't tiny, it's not large either. Don't expect a suite if you didn't pay for it, we had a regular room with queen size bed, at least you have room to put your small suitcase and turn around.
One of the things different about this hotel is what you find in the drawer of the nightstand, no, not a bible, can you guess? an interpreted excerpt of Kama Sutra, I kid you not. However, the room is pretty well designed. There were many power outlets for all the chargers and appliances you need, the bedside lights were good for reading and have dimmers. The decor is definitely different and interesting. Nice opaque curtains good for sleeping in. The closet is small and taken up by the small refrigerator, strange place for it I think. The location on 45th street between 6th and Broadway is convenient and close to Time Square. I would recommend this hotel for people looking for something different from the name brand chain hotels in the Big Apple. Its gallery of black and white photos on the walls are also interesting to look at. Part of the Cross country trip to D. C. 2009 travel blog
