Night Hotel New York Reviews
Night, black and white all over Sep 23, 2009
This is an interesting hotel, Goth-inspired, they call it. It's ultra modern, everything is black and white, and sleek. The price is Manhattan price, expensive, but at least the room isn't tiny, it's not large either. Don't expect a suite if you didn't pay for it, we had a regular room with queen size bed, at least you have room to put your small suitcase and turn around.
One of the things different about this hotel is what you find in the drawer of the nightstand, no, not a bible, can you guess? an interpreted excerpt of Kama Sutra, I kid you not. However, the room is pretty well designed. There were many power outlets for all the chargers and appliances you need, the bedside lights were good for reading and have dimmers. The decor is definitely different and interesting. Nice opaque curtains good for sleeping in. The closet is small and taken up by the small refrigerator, strange place for it I think. The location on 45th street between 6th and Broadway is convenient and close to Time Square. I would recommend this hotel for people looking for something different from the name brand chain hotels in the Big Apple. Its gallery of black and white photos on the walls are also interesting to look at. Part of the Cross country trip to D. C. 2009 travel blog |

Others said it would be $10,000 to rent a floor in the hotel, with a 6-night minimum! Some of the other prices were just as outrageously high, usually requiring a 7-10 day minimum stay at $1,000-$3,000 per night. Even other hotels in the city far from Times Square priced themselves… Our Goal: Watch the "Ball Drop" in Times Square for the Millennium - LIVE! |

…complete contrast to my visit to South Africa where a friendly border guard greeted me and told me where I should go and eat that night or in Australia where they smiled and joked about Wales getting beaten by Australia in the Rugby hours before. I'll say one thing, the border guards in the US are not there to promote tourism and make you feel welcome. It's not that I don't understand what happened in 9/11, I was working in Deutsche Bank… One night, one hotel room & two new friends |
