 The Best Seafood Dinner in Honolulu, Hawaii Jul 29, 1999
Nick's Fishmarket is one of the finest eating establishments in the world, located at the heart of downtown Honolulu's main shopping area, just off the beaches of Waikiki. This is one restaurant on the island of Oahu for a fine dining experience--and may require actually dressing up a bit--probaably one of 3 places on the island where a coat & tie may be appropriate. Reservations are a must!
The staff is a well-managed (German, we think) well-oiled machine of quality service you definitely won't find anywhere else in laid-back Hawaii. All dishes masterfully prepared by Executive Chef Brian Lee. Just keep in mind you have to pay a bit more for food, wine and service this good in paradise! The seafood dishes are excuisite, including the live main lobster. The last time we went here was our last day in Hawaii after living there for 4 years and I had the lobster thermidor. I can still remember how it tasted! It also went well with the Zilliken Reiselling wine from Germany. On the day before Thanksgiving, we saw the huge Norwegian Cruise Line cruise ship pull into Honolulu Harbor and a couple of rainbows peaked out. We spent most of the day packing and getting ready to ship our Christmas gifts from the Post Offic…… Our only rainy day in Hawaii is filled with rainbows |
