Nice is not a terribly big town, and this somewhat limits the amount of things there is to do. However, Nice is a very beautiful town at night. Even if you're not with family, it's a great time just to walk along the water. The unfortunate thing about Nice's beach is that it's full of stone, but that shouldn't stop you from enjoying the evening. The beach in Nice alone seems to spread for miles. You can also take a walk up to the old fort and enjoy the view from there, with the lights of the city below you. If that doesn't suit you, you can always talk a walk through the pedestrian area of the city. Depending on the time of night, you can stop off at a restaurant and listen to some music before checking out the area. Just a note, there are other cities nearly that could offer more to do, such as Monaco, which is just 20 minutes away by train.
