On the way back from Niagara-on-the-Lake we spotted the large Souvenier City establishment. It's on the Niagara Parkway and can't be missed. We had to stop in! Souvenier City has a wide array of Canada and Niagara Falls themed merchandise ranging from T-shirts, hats and other apparel to souvenir magnets, spoons, thimbles, plates, and bottle openers. There is an Indian handcrafts area and also an Ann of Green Gables section. Postcards, too, of course. It's all tastefully display...

We decided to go see Niagara Falls today, since Kevin had never been there before, and I was there more than 20 years ago (from the American side). The Canadian side has better view! It's a pretty long drive, about 2 hours, going through Toronto from the east, around Lake Ontario on its west shore and crossing a canal linking Lake Erie and Ontario, we arrived at Niagra Falls a little after noon. Our hosts Amy and David had not been here a few years and were amazed at the new hotels which spran...

Niagara Falls  is a Canadian city on the Niagara River in the Golden Horseshoe region of south-central Ontario. It lies across the river from Niagara Falls, New York, and was incorporated on June 12, 1903.   The city is dominated by the Niagara Falls waterfalls on the Niagara River and benefits from the fact, that both falls, American Falls and Horseshoe Falls, can be best seen from the Canadian side thus presenting the city one of the major tourist attractions of the world. The n...

The Falls were beautiful. Because of all the mist from The Horse Shoe Falls, it was difficult to see it all. The mist itself was beautiful and made the view of the falls seem mystical. The Falls are illuminated at night and the city is light up as well.

After checking out of the inn, we decided to drive along the Niagara Falls Parkway, stop for some souviniers and then start heading back to the US. We stopped to see the Whirlpool Rapids, which are downstream from the falls and are created by a very sharp curve in the river.

Niagara FallsNiagara Falls is far more than a natural phenomenon. A world-class destination with something for everyone, the city offers thriving night life, one-of-a-kind sightseeing, and adventure for all ages. Niagara Falls are massive waterfalls on the Niagara River, straddling the international border separating the Canadian province of Ontario and the U.S. state of New York. The falls are 17 miles (27 km) north-northwest of Buffalo, New York, 75 miles (120 km) south-southeast of Toronto...

When our tour ended on the US side, we drove over the Peace Bridge into Canada.  Tyler and I had our passports, Dawn had her birth certificate and drivers license.   (As of Jan 1, 2007, you now need a passport to get into Canada).  We parked near the "Old Scow", an old barge that has been stuck for years just above the Falls.   This barge broke free many years ago with 3 men on it and almost went over.  One of the men managed to swim to safety...

My husband and I took a trip to Niagara Falls in 2006. We couldn't decide if we should stay on the United States side, or the Canadian side. So after seeking a lot of opinions from other people, we decided on the Canadian side. I am really glad we took the advice of others. The United States Falls really isn't visible unless you are on the Canadian side. Of course, on the United States side, you can walk down the steps and be "on" the falls pretty much, but as a whole, for a great pictur...

The second day I decided I wanted to go on Maid of the Mist!  That was an awesome boatride that I got great shots of the American Falls and was taken into the center of the Horseshoe Falls!  It was unbelievable!  I had such a great time talking to other tourists on the boat.  Standing near me was one lady from Cleveland, Ohio and two young men who were from Africa!  We were all enjoying the ride and got pretty wet!As we pull out of the Horseshoe Falls, I realize there...
