Newport Vacation Guide
Newport is one of the larger towns on the oregon coast with a population of nearly 10,000 people. It sits on highway 101 and the highway is one big long strip of tourist activity with motels, gas stations, fast food, grocery stores, tourist trinket stores, and a casino.
If you get off the highway and get to see the ocean it is actually quite a nice beachfront. The side streets radiating off the highway have beachfront rentals you can rent and have great oceanfront views.
There is an Old Town in Newport on the south end of town tucked just under the Yaquina Bay bridge on Yaquina Bay that is a great place to visit to have some fresh seafood in a reastaurant or buy a t-shirt to commemorate your visit to the Oregon Coast.
For things to do in Newport you can go to the Old Town and look around, visit the Oregon Coast Aquarium or check out Yaquina Head lighthouse.

On a quick trip up to Oregon I took a few shots of this cape. I have always loved this place, one of the most breath taking views I've seen. It is located South of the Newport/Yachats area on the central Oregon coast. These pictures were taken on one of the rare beautiful May days…

After Crater Lake on the drive back to Sara's we stopped at a few water falls along the way. The water is so clear and cold. After staying one last night at Sara's we left for Newport, OR. Along the way we stopped at The Sea Lion Cave which is along the Oregon coast. It is the largest sea cavein th…
