Trip to Newfounland & Labrador

Jan 13 - Mar 7 2007. From -30C to 30C the next day... One $800 airpass = Kelowna BC (Big White), Miami FL, New York NY, Boston MA, Miami FL (again), Key West FL, St John's NFLD, Chicago IL, Whitehorse YK, San Francisco CA, (Vancouver: brief visit home for Chinese New Year's and to unload winter gear), Los Angeles CA, Phoenix/Tucson AZ and too many YYZ visits.

One last stop in July 2004 on the way home from Kuwait.

As an over the road long haul truck driver I get to see many places in North America. I have been to every Province in Canada, and every State in the mainland United States. Canada is an amazing country as is the United States each offering their own uniqueness. Favorite Canadian place Newfoundland for its rustic lands and overly friendly people and BC for its mountains. In the U.S. Utah (Zion,Bryce Canyon) and Arizona (Grand Canyon), California (Death Valley)

I traveled to the Acadian (french influenced)land of Nova Scotia, Canada, a remarkably scenic place where the mountains meet the sea... My time was consumed with whale watching and photographing the beauty around me.

After we left Port Aux Basques we headed north along route 1 to Barachois Pond Provincial park and camped by a really cool lake. The lake was overlooked by a ridge of mountains with imposing rocky outcrops and cool wooded valleys. You could hear a waterfall thundering away from across the lake. We made a simple meal of tomato spagetti with veggie burgers (R is vegetarian so I have decided to give it a go for a week).
