Newbury is a nice typical town, located in the middle of Southern England. The town is famous for its racecourse, and also for its 17th century castle (Highclere Castle).
It is very beautiful for walks along the canal, or deeper in the countryside. The town center can be quite animated at night (and even more after an event at the racecourse) at the Market Place with pubs and discos. The main street is surrended by shops, there is a little shopping centre (Kennet Shopping) and, a further from the town center you can find some fast food, bigger shops for groceries and Retail Shopping. It is obviously not the first destination to go in the UK, but the geographical situation is interesting to visit cities all around the area, such as Bristol, Bath, Oxford or London for instance!

The area of Berkshire is located in the middle south of England. From one hour to London, it is the deep countryside -- at least for a city girl who had always been living in the suburb of Paris before ! The geographical situation is really great to visit cities all around the area, such as Bristol, B...

Today's journey takes us to Stonehenge and we park in a huge car park with all the coach loads of people and cars. Our £2 parking money is refunded with the purchase of the tickets to walk around the stones. It is Sunday and it is bedlam. Find a couple of handsets and plug in to the commentary. Though we felt we had to visit it we did as many had suggested and went on to Avebury.
Before that we found a Morrisons where there was an offer of 2 roast dinners for Â...
