New York Vacation Guide
New York City (the "Big Apple"), the unofficial capital of the world, is a diverse melting pot of cultures and cosmopolitan; an interesting city full of vitality to visit or to live in. NYC is comprised of five boroughs: the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island; with Manhattan being the most visited and Brooklyn being the most coveted. Even after many visits, or even living here, one will not have experienced all the city has to offer.
The most convenient way to get around is walking, or the subway for longer distances. Taxis and buses are convenient, except when a traffic jam ensues. The museums are world class and everyone should visit the MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, the American Museum of Natural History (where you can spend over a day!), and the Whitney. You will never go hungry with neighbourhoods like Little Italy and Chinatown. There is something for everyone with the myriad of restaurants, cafes, bars, and street vendors. And don't forget to visit SoHo, the East Village, Madison, Park and 5th Ave. for the trendy shopping! NYC also has one of USA's icons: The Statue of Liberty!
New York has been labeled "The City That Never Sleeps", due to a 24-hour subway, all night diners, etc. Central Park is a city oasis-perfect for walks, picnics, bike rides, boat rides, ice skating, horse riding. Visit the Empire State Building or the Observation Deck and then hop a ride to the famous Long Island beaches at Penn Station.

The last day in New York. Out of bed early and collect the food from the lobby again. This time the hotel was busy. This time I stayed downstairs longer. Drink more coffee and enjoyed my free time. I went upstairs to bring the food up. Now we have to rearrange the suitcases and try …

WOW!!! What a great weekend in NYC. I was a bit nervous about this one, just because of so many TB peeps who were coming. I am somewhat shy in large crowds and wasn't sure if I would be comfortable in this setting, but all my fears were soon removed. I will admit, the wine and Patron helped m…

The following is my favorite excerpt from E.B. White's Here Is New York:
“There are roughly three New Yorks. There is, first, the New York of the man or woman who was born here, who takes the city for granted and accepts its size and its turbulence as natural and inevitable. Second, ther…
