So it was a wonderful week of june and I noticed that the weather on Saturday was promising to be BEAUTIFUL. My dear grandmother has live in NY for almost 20 years and have NEVER been to the Statue of Liberty so....I told her "Mama, wake up early on Saturday and put your walking shoes on because I will take you out" she was completely clueless but she was very happy to see what I wanted to surprise her with and we had an awesome time! hope you guys enjoy the pictures of our beautiful day! =D

This was my first trip on my lonesome - The Big Apple! It was great experience. I went for 7 days and stayed in a Hotel (formerly a Motel) called the Skyline Hotel, which was a 10-minute walk from Times Square - not bad! When I first arrived and got in my transport to take me to my Hotel the first thing that I noticed was just how patriotic the USA is. The Stars and Stripes are seen on almost every corner and on every building and everything is bigger. On my first night I decided to head to Tim...

That is not the only similarity with Reggae Reggae Sauce New York, New York have. They are both also extremely hot.
Me and will landed at JFK on tuesday and pretty jet lagged landed and went for a walk to see what was about, got some pizza, watched some TV then went to bed early because we were jet lagged.
Woke up early doors on the 3rd because of the time difference and utilised it. Hit Times Square then over and had a look at the empire state building. Slipped in a little bit of shopping...

I am a Long Island girl...that being said, unlike most Long Island girls, I do not get to the Big Apple much. Even when I travel the world, I always prefer being out in the country rather than the big cities. As most of my friends know, I do not get into Manhattan so when my friend Chris in New Jersey said he wanted to go, I said "Let's Go"!
Now this is where it gets strange to most people. This New York girl, drove to Dunellen, New Jersey, so she could go back to New York!...

To Bruno, it hurt to see you walk away, you were an important part of my life and the time we shared will forever be a part of me. So even though I realise it was never meant to be, still, it hurts. I'v seen fire and I'v seen rain, Iv seen sunny days that I thought would never end, Iv seen lonely times when I couldnt find a friend, but I always thought id see you again..I cant cry hard enough for you to hear me..I could fill a thousand pages telling you how I felt and you still wouldnt...

First impression of New York: I love it! I'm a sucker for downtowns, bustling streets and the nonstop entertainment of people watching. My second impression of New York would be the guy I saw on my first night as we left the restaurant, who ran from tree to tree with his pants around his ankles. Yeah. We can all pretty much insert our own assumptions of what exactly was taking place. But, personally, I will never be able to think of the term "tree-hugger" in the same light again. God bless Ne...

Today I flew from Washington DC to New York City. Last time my dad and I took a bus down to DC but this time I had to get there in time for a flight and I think it was easier this way. I took American Airlines which I will abuse later in a review!
Then I had a flight from New York to Tokyo again, and then Tokyo to Singapore. There for a few days then back to Melbourne! What a momentous journey! A very touristy trip but I feel like with so little time that's the kind of thing I had to do in ...

After an OK flight and a long hot subway ride, we finally arrived at our hotel on the upper west side on Thursday at around 7pm NY time (ie. midnight!). First stop was, of course, Times Square. It's like Piccadilly Circus on acid and despite being about 9pm, was still packed and buzzing. After dinner in a sports bar right on Times Square we had a wander around the nearby streets and found a bar for a beer before the extra five hours finally caught up with us and ...

We got to New York, and the weather was beautiful! It was quite hot - around 79 degrees - so we were all sweating like pigs. We got to our hotel, the Days Hotel Broadway, which was very mediocre, but it did the job fine. We had 3 rooms - one for my parents, one for Sarah and Carley, and one for me and Tristan. Once we unloaded all our stuff in the rooms, we went to Central Park and walked for almost an hour. It was beautiful! There was a pond with what seemed like hundreds of turtles, ...

I was at a Hot Dog cart within a hour of being dropped at Grand Central. They are everywhere. Near enough on every block corner... Welcome to New York City my stomach said :)
Hot Dogs are just the tip of this culinary iceberg called New York City. I had my very first Knish experience in NY. I went to the Sunshine Cinema on East Houston to see a movie, and a few doors down was "Yonah Schimmels Knish Bakery". I was blown away by them and have been a fan ever since. Real good sou...

Halfway home. We are back in the JFK waiting area waiting for our jet for the final let home. I am still not impressed with this airport. We had a bit of a layover so we stopped to eat in the food court. Not only was it highly over priced (expected) but it was hotter than I could believe. The food court uses a opaque glass ceiling over the food court. Probably saves the airport authority a bundle on lighting costs, but it acts like a green house. We c...
