After breakfast, Lee took me to ground zero where the World Trade Center once stood. Adrian, from Dublin, had no concrete plans for the morning, so we invited him to join us. We wanted to see the progress of the new "Freedom Tower" they were constructing, but the area is still pretty much a big, fenced in hole. I had been to the Trade Center about a week before it was so callously destroyed, but I had not been back since. It was still hard…

:( this was my last day in NYC, there were no more chanced to delay my leaving. Well, I´m sure I will be back eventually.
My bus was leaving the city early in the afternoon, so I just wanted to explore around the city and visit a couple of museums. Matt was leaving too. So we just checked out, left our bags at he hostel and started our last day in NY.
One of the boroughs was still missing: The Bronx! So, we took the metro and check the Yankees´Stadium. I was so glad, I wasn´t just …

Tuesday, just like all the other days so far, was FREEZING!
Beth and Chris were back at work on Tuesday, so Lo and I headed into town, and got off by the Flatiron Building; a building I had always loved, but someone never managed to see in person!
We took pictures of the Flatiron, and looked around the park at the strange sculpture of silver trees there.

Ok so on my travels again & now in New York for Feb 2008. Again…travelling by myself, getting the bus blah blah blah but its ok this cause I’ve done it before so I’m a pro! J I took all the precautions for the cold weather then. Now I had been told that New York winter is freezing and that I should wrap up. On my very first visit we went in Nov/Dec and it was mild but I’m Scottish so I’ve seen it all and felt it all before. Anyway, I wasn’t sure what to expect in …

Well, where do I begin?...I suppose I should start from the moment I ran down the stairs of the D train and onto the platform only to discover that the train I was waiting for had just left the station. It was 5:45 and I had only 15 minutes to get there in time to catch the beginning of the two hour open, so I ran back up the stairs and onto the street where I ran cross-town and jumped into a taxi. Once I arrived in front of the Delancey the clock had hit exactly 6:00. As I entered, the first…

To the most beautiful and vibrant city of the world,
You are the city of the people... You represent what oppressors hate... freedom, opportunity, diversity, and a shit load of fun. That is why they envy you and want you gone. What they don’t understand is that you create resilience and a special something in your occupants that no other place does....and you can’t destroy or ignore that... How many people have you bid farewell? Yet they still think about you and&nbs…

We did end up sleeping in a bit and then took a cab to the airport (much to my dismay). We made quick friends witht he cab driver, he was for whatever reason impressed that I could answer the math questions he was asking. He said I was the only one to figure them out, but I dunno about that. We got to the airport and said our goodbyes to the driver, and went on our way. About 10 minutes later, my brother realized that he had lost his phone...we quickly determined it wa…

***DISCLAIMER***The rest of the trip was fantastic. If you get offended by insults to NYC you should move on to the blogs from the other cities in this trip. Ok, it's my fault.I went to New York with big expectations. Huge expectations. But seriously? The place is a mess.... They say you either love or hate NYC. I'd go so far as to say that I dont even think I could relate to someone who loves it.
I've actually delayed writing this blog because I didnt know if I had the words to exp…

It’s been a while since I
updated, because I have not focused much on China for a while. I have been
going through a major “growth spurt”, so to speak, on a spiritual level. I
actually can’t remember when I wasn’t going through a spiritual change,
but this one has been roughly since the time Max and I broke up. I have been
reaching out and meeting people, for the sake of making friendships and not as
a means to find a boyfriend – this is a major shift for me. My entire view …

Ok, laten we even een test doen.
Juist men gaat voor vele miljoenen dollars kunst-watervallen bouwen. Mooi op rotsen en zo? Nee joh, men plempe een stapeltje steigerbuizen tot een …
