WOW!!! What a great weekend in NYC. I was a bit nervous about this one, just because of so many TB peeps who were coming. I am somewhat shy in large crowds and wasn't sure if I would be comfortable in this setting, but all my fears were soon removed.  I will admit, the wine and Patron helped me loosen up, but it was the people who made all the difference.  These TBs who came were such a fabulous group of people, and I felt so comfortable in their company. I realize I did not get to ...

The following is my favorite excerpt from E.B. White's Here Is New York:   “There are roughly three New Yorks. There is, first, the New York of the man or woman who was born here, who takes the city for granted and accepts its size and its turbulence as natural and inevitable. Second, there is the New York of the commuter — the city that is devoured by locusts each day and spat out each night. Third, there is the New York of the person who was born somewhere else and came to New Yo...

Well, it was home time for the Scots in NYC. The other good thing about the Continental flight to Glasgow is it leaves at about 8pm, so you're also got most of the day in the city, and it's not a day really spent in the airport. We checked out and left our bags in the hotel until mid afternoon, when we'd booked a car to take us back to Newark. We breakfasted at the cafe next door to the Doubletree and set out for Central Park with the hope of going on a horse and carriage ride. The bad new w...

(still a work in progress) Okay am finally getting a chance to start writing. Let's start at the beginning of how all this came about, here goes. Once upon a time in a land far, far away, there was a boy named Jeff who had just come back from the famous Amsterdam Meetup. He had such a good time that he thought to himself "ha, why don't we have a meetup here in good ole New York City. Yes, what a good idea".   Lol, seriously folks that's what really happend; and I digress,&nb...

Here I am, sitting in Terminal 4 at JFK Airport! I arrived in from STL at 10:30 AM local time and my flight to Johannesburg doesn't board until 4:30 PM. So, I have around 4 hours to kill...and what better way to kill it than starting my Africa blog. The morning started at 2:30 AM (Missouri time) and by 3:00, Kendra and I were on our way to STL. Kendra gave me a ride so that I wouldn't have to park my car for six weeks. THANK YOU, KENDRA!!! I boarded my plane at 6:30 AM and was off t...

Theres nothing like New York City. As they call it the Big Apple or the Capitol of the World. It offers everything a person can desire and more. My sister and her friend came over to visit me for the weekend. I decided to take them to some of the famous spots in NYC. New York City is like an endless book, once you think the book has ended. Another chapter emerges. What can i say, the more i experience New York City, the more I LOVE IT.

A few weeks ago Lucian (lucian_32y) sent me a message saying he would be in NYC from February 14 - 15 on his way to Central America and wanted to know if I could spend some time with him while here. I told him I would love to. However, since it was during the work week, and my employer is a slave-driver :-), I told him I would meet him after work the night of the 15th, which also happened be a Friday night, and I wouldn't have to worry about getting up too early the next morning. Friday...

The weekend began at Village Underground, Friday, April 25th, where the live house band played great music and drinks were to be had. Having worked the night before and it was very hectic on the floor that night, I spend all day Friday sleeping - drained and simply exhausted.  Meeting time with my friend, Aileen, my +1 for the night, was 10PM - but she was late when I received a call from a co-worker, Ken, that he needed a drink. Always up for a drink or two or 5,...

You do get to see more when you walk. BUT use the subway if you have feet that are not made for walking! Oh, and get a subway map so you can plan your trip better  :-) http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htmThis time I was showing my friend from Germany around New York City. I was surprised that I've become a pretty good guide to the city after such a short time. I finally have the subway down to where I don't have to check before I leave the house on which line I have to jump and where...

So let me begin with my Saturday morning.  I woke up at about 6:30AM to find myself in bed wearing the dress I had on the night before... oh right... and my boots as well.  One too many shots for this gal!  Finally got out of bed around 9AM to shower and head to my nail appointment.  Had some time to kill, so grabbed breakfast and then off to the gym to train my 1PM client.  I returned home around 2:30PM and attempted to take a nap being as I only had about 3-4 h...
