NY Water Taxi Free Weekend Sailings to Brooklyn Nov 13, 2010
From Pier 11 (Wall Street) in Lower Manhattan, New York Water Taxi offers free weekend sailings to Brooklyn’s Red Hook neighborhood. On a clear, sunny day you can take in panoramic sights and views of the New York City, Jersey City and Hoboken skylines, the Statue of Liberty in New York Bay as well as Brooklyn’s industrial waterfront.
Locating Pier 11 (Wall Street) is easy, just look and listen for a lot of helicopters. Looking towards Brooklyn, the slip will be on your left-hand side of the heliport.
The sailing takes approximately twenty minutes and passengers disembark in front of Ikea, a Scandinavian based home furniture store.
For those not wishing to just visit the store, you can stroll into Red Hook, the neighborhood described in my TravBuddy In and Around New York City TravBuddy Blog and visit an establishment known for its key lime pies described in my TravBuddy review of Steve's Authentic Key Lime Pies.
