NIGHTMARE Sep 05, 2008
RUN, RUN, RUN from this Hole (Can't use obscene remarks). It is scary. We booked it on-line for the labour day weekend (August 30-Sept1, 08). $200/night. 2 nights, got a confirmation and after driving for 8 hours from Toronto arrived in to this hotel - it was scary. However, after booking on-line and getting confirmation , in hotel we were told that they do not have reservation. While I was on the phone with the agency- I was even ashamed to stand near this hotel. There are sex shops on the sides. By the way, when I was in the lobby speaking to this rude Indian-concierge...some "ghetto" men were already winking at me. AHHHH, it just scary. In the end it cost us triple for those days, cause of the long weekend. Make sure you go to trip advisor to check reviews.
Trust me...I always thought that people have nothing better to do, but complain ...and never believed in reviews..Well, if you are like me you are in for HUGE SURPRISE. |

We decided on Best Western Seaport Inn overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and Wall Street on Peck Slip near the New York Fish Market. It was a 3 block walk to the A-train subway which took us directly to Times Square. Their room rates were the same all year… Same Millennium Story, Different Millennium Day! We are lucky enough to be staying in a Holiday Inn right smack dab in SoHo! We wiped ourselves down a bit in our room (seriously...it was 29 degrees here today!) and then took off immediately for something to eat (hadn't eaten all day and it was 4 o'clock) and to make… First Bite of the Big Apple! |

I originally wrote this yesterday, but then because of the rather crappy Holiday Inn internet connection, it got erased so I am trying again. It was a rather grumpy entry anyways, so here's to hoping this can be a bit better. Right now I'm just chillin' like a villan, waiting for Ev to get back… Day 4 |
