NYC Summer Streets program is in its third year. And, a new attraction has been added to the Summer Streets program this year -- "dumpster diving."

This Summer Streets activity will allow for New Yorkers and visitors to the Big Apple to dive into dumpsters (mobile pools along Park Avenue). During Summer Streets, the City's Transportation Department closes off Park Avenue and connecting streets from Central Park to the Brooklyn Bridge (nearly seven miles of streets in Manhattan) for New Yorkers and visitors to walk, ride bikes, do yoga, exercise, dance or rollerblade on the empty streets.

Yes folks, no taxis, busses or cars - WoW!

The three Saturdays that Summer Streets will be held in NYC are: August 7, August 14 and August 21 from 7am to 1pm.

So if you are visiting New York City, checkout the dumspter and splash around and cool off or simply lounge around the pool.

There is also lots of free music to enjoy and everything is FREE.

Safe travels...

Summer Streets is one of my favorite summer activities in NYC. If you can coordinate a trip with one of these weekends, I highly recommend that.
