New Years eve between London Eye and Big Ben 2011 Jan 02, 2011
each year more than 250,000 celebrate new years eve in front of London eye and big ben

and since i was in the country i decided to have look.

i arrived at London at 7:30 coming from Portsmouth and went straight ahead to Westminster to take my place at the fireworks display area , which was the street just opposite to London eye from the other side of the river ( Victoria Embankment and Waterloo Bridge ) about 25 minutes from Victoria Station the nearest open station .

i arrived at 8 ,surely the scene was filled with joy and excitement, thousands of people from all different nationalities came to celebrate the event,

once i entered i realized that i have made to mistakes . one was that i didn't buy any food or drinks thinking that i might find some inside, there was only one place and the queuing line consisted of around 500 people !!

the other mistake that i arrived early , so now am bound to stand for up to 3 hrs . but it was totally worth it .

at 10 o’clock, the viewing area was full ,and the entertainment started by a live Dj provided by BBC radio 1 NIHAL which continued up till the countdown . and he was amazing . bringing the best house music , we dance off the cold !!!

the atmosphere was so friendly kids , adults , grandpas , lovers ,everyone was there enjoying .sure there was the usual drunkards but nothing out of the usual.

for my surprise the London police didn't bother people at all and yet they were in control , thumb up for them . they were absolutely wonderful ,

before 5 minutes from 12 , we were live at bbc tv , and countdown started by laser lights at London eye.

Then the fireworks , and it was the most beautiful thing i have ever seen and it continued for 10 minutes.

so if u plan to see London fireworks these are my advices :-

- be sure to buy all your food and drinks with you because you can't buy any once you are inside the viewing area.

- try you best to arrive at around 9:30 because the viewing area closes when it's full .

- wear comfortable shoes and wear heavy clothes , and if you can bring a small chair with you because you will a t least stand for 2 hrs .

- try to avoid going back by the underground because , it's free but you will que until the sun is up .

new years eve is an unbelievable experience u don't wanna miss:)
