I learned how to dive while living in Hawai'i and unfortunately do not get many opportunities to enjoy it. There is something about diving in a quarry or off the Jersey Shore that doesn't appeal to me as much as, Bonaire. haha
My father dives as well so we booked an excursion with Stuart Cove's prior to our trip. I felt a lot better knowing everything was set. All of my previous dives were done in Hawai'i, more spur of the moment. This was first time I would be diving...

Sniff... last day! Why does time go so fast when you're on vacation? I had heard about this little restaurant, Conch Fritters, the oldest and most popular restaurant in Nassau, while talking to the locals on Friday. So I decided to head into town with Pat for one more taste of Nassau. We had a nice day walking around and exploring the few shops I didn't get to with Kimberly. The town is really very charming with all the cheery colors and fun plants. The street life is very vibrant because all...

Well, I turned XX this year and spent it on a surprise Carnival cruise to the Bahamas. I kinda had a sense we were going on a trip, but didnt want to spoil the surprise, so I went with the flow... Man was it a good time!!
We arrived at JFK on Thursday afternoon and flew to Miami with crappy old American Airlines... Man can they ever get a flight out on time? Well, the flight was delayed 2 hours; then we sat on the tarmac for 2 or more hours just waiting, waiting, waiting..... lol. I go...

Carnival Glory docked in Nassau around 8:00 a.m. It had been a short overnight sail from Port Canaveral. But, port time would be limited as we had a much longer voyage ahead to reach St. Thomas two days hence. We disembarked and walked over to Festival Place, the customs and welcome center. I picked up a map and information. There were market stalls here, too. But, as it was Sunday morning after all, no one was yet open.
We had opted for the Carnival-sponsored Dolphn Encounter tou...

We docked on a cloudy morning, but we were able to take some pictures of the scenery from the boat. Our first adventure called for a short boat ride to a little island known as Blackbeard's Cay. There we were to spend the morning relaxing on the beach. However, the boat ride took 1/2 hour each way, so what was supposed to be a 3 hour excursion ended up being an hour of traveling and 2 hours on the beach. Then we headed back to mainland Nassau to catch up with our afternoon excursion, which wa...

So, here I am again. In Nassau, Bahamas. I always find it funny when I pull into this port and see two military ships parked in the basin. It seems kind of awkward for such a small country to have a Navy. Maybe they use them for drug busts or something, I guess that would make sense. Anyhow, I had visited Nassau once before when I was younger. This time it was much different than I had remembered it. Nassau got a face-lift and looked rather nice nowadays. I guess a lot can happen in 10 years....

We had booked a trip to one of the Exuma islands and bus came pick us up at 8am from our hotel. We went to Paradise Islands ferry terminal and there got on in a boat. It was one bumpy ride, but sun was shining and there was only deep blue ocean ahead of us. It was a great feeling! After like an hour we arrived on our destination, and it was one paradise on earth! Nobody lived there and there was only some little building with tables where we could eat. First words that our guide said that "Do...

The wedding was absolutely perfect. It took place on a beach at the Old Fort Bay Club in Nassau. The cocktail hour was on a roof deck (amazing view!) and an incredible dinner of lobster tail and filet followed in the club. Live entertainment, dancing, drinking and friends made for the perfect day!
We were met with a pair of flip-flops for every guest, glasses of "Bahama Mama" cocktails and gorgeous scenery. Truly, the guest experience was top of mind and we cer...

I had just been engaged and was on a 3-day weekend cruise to the Bahamas with my new fiancé and my parents. We had spent the morning in Nassau doing some really awesome snorkeling and had wandered into town to eat. I had been to Nassau once before and loved it so I was pretty excited to be back. We noticed, however, that there was an unusual excitement in the air. People were lining the streets and music was playing. We quickly realized that there was a parade c...
