When we got there on Friday and went out, I hated it. It was too dirty, too messy, too loud, and wayyyyy tooo crowded. But on Saturday, we started playing…

What a surprise! Although it shouldn't have been, everybody knows that New Orleans is all about fun and entertainment. But I didn't know I would enjoy it so much. We arrived in New Orleans just after noon. Our hotel, the Prince Conti, was more than I could ever have hoped for. A beautiful European-styled hotel in the heart of the French Quarter. Once settled and after a short nap we explored the Quarter a bit. Its a beautiful ci…

Arrived New Orleans for Mardi Gras and had a feeling it was going to be a great event. After all, we were already having a hard time finding parking and we were still quite a few blocks from the French Quarter and Poydras Street.
Decided to pick a spot for the first parade of the day on Sund…

Three years ago, I attended a medical conference in New Orleans. Seven days, many beignets later, I ended up with roughly 100 pictures of the Riverwalk, Lee Circle, Bayou Region, French Quarter, Jackson Square and Bourbon Street. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, my thoughts are with all of the wonderful people that "adopted," me and taught me about their historical and fascinating city.

Ok, so let the Mardi Gras season commence! Whoo Hoo!! The first parade we went to was Krew du Vieux. This is a satirical parade that is very sexual and pokes fun at our local and national politicians. Senator David Vitter took a particularly intense hit after his tryst with a prostitute became public knowledge.

New Orleans, Louisiana, USA -› -› …
Anne Rice fans would enjoy the Garden District, where she would get her inspiration and the setting of her books. Whether a fan or not, it is still worth visiting, and just looking around.
