We had an early but uneventful flight to New Orleans but not before I got into a "discussion" with the airport guy checking my luggage because it was 19 pounds overlimit. I couldn't seem to get him to understand that I needed everything that I packed or I wouldn't have…

Mardi Gras, New Orleans

I cant really say much about this trip except I am not going to Mardi Gras ever again. I had a great time, but I think that was enough for me. When we got there on Friday and went out, I hated it. It was too dirty, too messy, too loud, and wayyyyy tooo crowded. But on Saturday, we started playing…

It was my first time going to New Orleans. My sister and I went for Jazz Fest. The city is awesome. The people are nice and the city has a great vibe. I want to go back every year if I can. If you love music it is a must to go here. The food was very good. You have to try some crawdads. Also I recomend getting away from all the tourist areas and try some hole in the walk local spots. Some have the best food and you meet some very interesting people.

Bourbon Street and Jackson Square

The ride is 24$... 34$ if you decide to get lunch.  Word of advice: DO NOT EAT LUNCH HERE.  It's dry and cheap... it's alright, I guess.  Kinda like eating at the Old Country Buffet: generic food kept hot under lamps for too long.  Rachael said the dessert was good.  The st…

The spirit of New Orleans is alive.  While I spent my time in the French Quarter I spoke to others about the city.  There is a tremendous spirit about the city.  From the taxi driver to the shop owner they see New Orleans as on the rebound.  The food is as wonderful as ever.…

AC/DC in concert!
posted by:

The concert was awesome! So much energy! My seat was in row 4 from the stage! I bought a $1400 Nikon camera just days before the concert thinking that I'd be able to somehow sneak it in. I did, quite ingeniously, but later got caught while snapping some photos of Angus Young. So I put the camera aw…

Arrival and dinner

There is nothing really exciting to report about the convention day of my trip.  For lunch, we ate at the Palace Cafe.  We ate upstairs, which is a lovely walk up a spiral staircase.  I had a seafood gumbo and a blue cheese salad.  It was a dreary day of heavy wind and rain, so …
