Eat after a walk? Aug 28, 2010
Almost everybody going to England's Lake District used once to go by Kendal. It hardly needs saying that it usually horribly crowded. Now that major highways by-pass it, it is a splendid town to vsit, either for its own sake or on the way back from a Lake District walk. Many a time we ate at this restaurant when it was called simply 'The Moon.' I have not eaten there since its name changed but since I have head from others that it is still good, I have taken a slight liberty in writing about it. if any particular detail is important to you, it might be as well to check with the restaurant before you go.

There used to be a queue (line) shortly after evening opening time. This was kept to minimal extent by asking people who had finished eating to take coffee in an upstairs lounge. In the main eating area there were long tables, where you might be joined, if you did not mind, by other diners.

Menus were always imaginative and reasonably priced and the reataurant had its own sall books of recipes.
