Nice morning to wake up too. We had a cool night for good sleeping, 60’s. Did the tour of Tombstone today. One of the best things we saw was a rose bush/tree. The original root came from Scotland in 1885. It is now the biggest rose bush in the world (spreading over an arbor that covers over 8,000 sq. ft) covered with little white roses. The oldest rose bush is in Germany. We toured the museum of the Bird Cage Theatre with its history of gamb...

Getting up early and an hour time change had us arriving at Carlsbad Caverns at 9:30 am, before most other tourists. We were one of the few going into the walking entrance instead of the elevator down. Cool and amazing! The great room could fit 14 football fields inside. What a national treasure the caves are!
We had checked into White’s City RV park at the entrance to the park earlier, so we returned for an afternoon at the “water park” which is a great...

For the holiday weekend, we skied Santa Fe Mtn. I've skied everywhere in New Mexico, but this was my first time to ski Santa Fe. We had a blast on this small mountain.
Before come, check out the snow report www.skireport.com/newmexico
and compare it to Taos and Angel Fire before you decide to make the trip.

I left New Braunfels at 4am Central Time to begin the arduous trek across the rest of the state of Texas on a single road - Interstate 10. Before the sun came up, the drive was a bit surreal as I moved beyond the San Antonio area. The sky was amazingly clear at points and the only thing one sees while driving across this landscape are the sharp limestone walls on either side of the road and the glow of 18-wheeler lights out in the distance. West Texas is an exceedingly lonely and desolate pla...

It was a foggy morning, and also a foggy early afternoon with a strong wind.
With that weather we left the kampground to drive to Las Vegas, NM.
On the way, just outside of Amarillo you can see the cadillacs in the grassland. That is, if the visibility is good...Luckily my mother saw something across the highway, so we took the first exit and returned on the other side of the road.It was freezing cold and a strong wind.We managed to get there, avoiding cow poop and make pictures without oth...

So after my speeding ticket in Childress, I drove off heeding to the speed limit all the way through Amarillo. After the town of Dumas, Texas, we got onto the US-385/US-87 which took us into the north east corner of New Mexico. After a dinner break in Clayton, Mar took over the driving duties. As we were about to head out of town, we saw red and blue flashing lights. Shit...not AGAIN!!!...in the same day!!! She wasn't speeding!!! I don't remember what she w...
