So after the Pueblo we ran off to get a bite to hit and snuck in to a Mexican food restaurant on the corner that from the outside really appeared to be a bit shady and perhaps a little greasy. Who doesn't love that?
Upon entering we found the cashier counter and two tables and then we saw through a back doorway that there was outdoor seating with 5 or 6 umbrella covered patio tables so we settled into one of these. We no sooner ordered our drinks then the sky opened its mouth and poured. Not...

I spent two weeks in Albuquerque this past month, and had a wonderful experience. This city is one of the few where I have instantly felt familiar and at home. This is Portland of the Southwest, and I really enjoyed the people and the city.

Today I made my way from a truck stop outside Bowie, Texas... just west of Fort Worth... not sure how far I traveled???
Yesterday: My first day on the road was a bit strange... left Austin during five o'clock traffic heading out to Round Rock... amazingly the expected traffic was non existant...driving the RV is a lot easier than I initially thought... key to the whole deal is to use the mirrors...
Last night: over-nighter in the truck stop parking area was interesting.. did not ...

Martina and I kidknapped Irmgart's garden gnome, Karl, and road-tripped from Portland to Sky City, New Mexico. Started out on I-84 toward Idaho. Camped in Burley - Paul (sounds like a bad dragqueen name). Drove through Utah to camp in Moab. Visited Arches National Park, and Mesa Verde before pulling in to Sky City Casino Hotel. Visited the Pueblos, Sandia Peak, Santa Fe via the Turqouise Trail. Then back toward home via Flagstaff, Las Vegas, Death Valley, the San Joaquin, & the Siskiyous.

...sipping my white chocolate mocha. Just about to leave Santa Fe! Last night was great, my host LeeSah was great. I ate dinner at a superb pizzeria called Backroad Pizza, and had a really good Nut Brown Ale made by Santa Fe Brewing Co. I might have to get a 6-pack before I head off to Texas. We hung out at her hostel/house (apparently I was the 20+ couchsurfer that they have had in a month. Met a cat named Brandon who is here from Michigan and is making hi...

I had read about the White Sands in New Mexico and luckily, we had enough time to make a quick stop there. The sun was sinking low and the hot temperatures of the day were changing into the cooler...
