YES! I will be going home to Pace, FL soon! I have been away from home for about two and a half months! While I was gone, I have been to such states as Virginia, West Vigrinia, Kentucky, and more I can't name right now. It will be a 20 hour drive to get home! I will have more on it later.

Due to weather, we decided to skip Telluride. Although we could have gotten there, we wouldn't be able to leave tomorrow maybe even the day after. So we decided to go back to Santa Fe, which is south enough that the storm system would not reach it.So after a LONG day, 4.5 hours from Chicago to Garden City, Kansas to refuel, and another 2 hours later, we are back in Santa Fe, even the same hotel.

This is truly one of the Wonders of the World. 3 miles long and 800 feet below ground you will find a transformed world. This was definitely a spectacular display of earth's artistry. At sundown you will see a silhouette of 200,000 bats coming out for a nights feast.

I'm about to start a 4,000+ roadtrip across the USA, starting in Aventura, Florida, and ending up in San Francisco, California! My mom is joining me for the ride in my '94 BMW 325i, which already has about 184K miles!
If you'd like to follow my journey, please visit my blog at www.trippinsandra.blogspot.com and leave a comment there, so I know who is 'keeping me company'!

Day 2 (6/26/08)Holbrook, AZ to Tucumcari, New Mexico8:05pm (had to add an hour for Mountain Time) / 92∞ / Very breezy and balmy – beautiful sunset! That’s what she said.Ok, got that out of my system. The title of today’s entry actually references the scope of sights we were able to see. A much shorter distance was covered today than I had anticipated (only 431 miles), but we were fortunate enough to see the Petrified Forest National Park (old wood) and the Painted Desert in Arizona. ...

Well after many emails, changes and special requests, we have finally decided on a tour guide. Now it is time to hit the books, and learn a bit about the sites. Over the course of my life, I have logged doezens of hours wathcing PBS and discovery specials about Egypt, but they are all jumbled up in my head. I am so excited I am obsessively surfing the internet, reading travellers blogs, and looking at pictures while dreaming of adventure. I would love to hear from anyone who has been th...

Here's something a little more recent. I spent a good week in New Mexico in June. I love going to Santa Fe and the Taos area in the fall/winter. Usually between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The cool air, the smell of pinon wood burning and the luminaries the line the adobe structures. Majical.
I never had a chance to check it out in the summer. So I did. As much as I enjoyed all the color, I still like the winter feel the best!!!!

I am fortunate that my job allows me the opportunity to travel and explore my own country through its winding back roads. I never grow tired of the landscape, friendly faces and cows! :P
quite often I am seeing my homeland from my car, but there are several days when I am able to explore on foot a park, river, city, small town or a dirt road leading to some natural treasure! :P
Enjoy!
