Located off 81 south is the small historic town of New Market. Host of an annual Civil War reenactment every May, relics of the event can be found in many of the local shops and museum. The town itself is charming. Take a stroll down Congress Street and visit antique stores, art galleries, and restaurants. You’ll often see people in period costume strolling down the streets and answering questions regarding the history of the town.

If you’re planning to spend the night, New Market is full of old homes restored into Bed and Breakfasts. New Market is a short drive from attractions such as Luray Caverns, Endless Caverns, the Shenandoah National Park, Massanutten Ski Resort and more.
