New Koyo hotel, Tokyo
New Koyo hotel, Tokyo Reviews
New Koyo - Is it worthy? Sep 28, 2008
Definitely the cheapest accommodation in Tokyo, but I wouldn't classify it as a Hotel. The option of having a separate room compared to sleeping in dorm attracted me regardless the obvious size of the room (2.20 x 1.70m). The location relatively good for the price. The staff are English speaking. However, there are some downside things about this place:
- only two showers for all 76 rooms, located at the first floor with limited use until 10 PM. There is also a Japanese style which is not for bathing; - the lobby area was very small to allow gathering of people; - it was forbidden of "hanging around and chatting" in the corridors. At the end I should say that the area where this hostel was located can offer better accommodation option near the same price. Unfortunately, most of them are not available online or with website in Japanese. |

Just can't believe it, found an unbeatably cheap hotel in a such expensive city. New Koyo hotel (www.newkoyo.com) is definitely a recommendation for those travelling in a budget, that looks for the total value of the money.
The room is accomodative (not to mention 'small') and clean, with the option of japanese and western style. Closest subway station: Minowa, and about 10 minutes walking distance in a friendly environment. Those with a big luggage doesn't need to worry, the pathway is smooth for you to just drag the luggage. Reception is able to speak english fluently, and very friendly. Mostly packed with traveller from all around the world, so, early reservation is a must. Enjoy Tokyo ! |
