Seeing some old friends and making some new ones.

While I was home on leave from Iraq myself and seven other friends made the decision to make the big "plunge", no pun intended, and go skydiving for the first time.  We ended up going to the Freefall Adventures Skydiving School in Williamstown, NJ which is not far from Sewell, NJ.  Our scheduled time to meet up to go skydiving was at 1pm  but when we arrived there were so many other skydivers in front of us we ended up having to wait almost 3 hrs.  So while we waited for o...

We get into Rutherford about 3 PM. After driving on the NJ Turnpike, which was fun for me. I barely kept up with Scott! Scott went to get our parking passes, and the little ladies in the office were  so sweet! They were so excited for our trip and we had to tell them all about what we were going to do. After a late start, my girlfriend and I made our way towards the Jersey Shore today. We stopped for gas in Buena, NJ ($2.80/gallon, what a bargain nowadays!) and headed towards Cacia's Bakery in Hammonton. They have the best ricotta cheesecakes I've ever tasted! Next stop was Apple Pie Hill in Shamong. At the top of this highest point in the Pine Barrens sits a fire tower which can sometimes offer views of Philadelphia and Atlantic City. I went to Jamaica with my Church Youth group. We stayed in the interior mountains of Jamaica, in a little town called Bamboo, and visited orphanages, hospitals, schools, and built a home for a family. We had a day off where we went to the coast. A very unique experience.

Postcards I have received from around the world... a work in progress because this is my new (and addicting) hobby! I love sending/receiving postcards from my TB friends...and I've even gotten my family into sending me postcards too! :)

  I have been to New Jersey many times.  I know most people who live in New York City try to avoid it, but I don't mind the Jersey vibe all that much.  In fact I have a few good friends who live there and they are good people, so I don't see the issue.   I don't have many photos of New Jersey because when I am going over for dinner at someones house I don't feel pulling out the camera and taking a photo of the grilled salmon would be appropriate, but that is just me... ...

If your in the mood for great Indian food and happen to be in the Mercer county area of NJ then I highly recommend stopping by at the Palace of Asia! They have an extensive vegetarian selection on their menu and are able to make several of the entrees vegan!! I have been eating here for over 5 years. The Daal Makhani is one of my favorite (and most ordered) dishes and I promise the the vegan version of this dish will not disappoint! Be sure to inform the waiter that your are vegan and ask hi...
