a free walking tour, worth about 10€ Sep 12, 2012
This is one of the best tours i have ever done because I didnt have someone who was only there because they get paid. My guide was Ciaran and he was very knowledgeable about his city. he answered all of our questions no matter how off-beat they were. He even explained one of his favorite parts of Dublin, the castle, which there is only the record tower left from the original castle, then the new-er part which was done in the the 1800's, and the newest remodeling which looks like dublin's lego land. no one wall the same colour, and why? because i like the colours the artist replied...

there is alot of information on this tour but it isnt like a history class, its relaxing and fun for all who'd like to know a bit of the history behind the buildings they see.

Free walking tour of Dublin Feb 23, 2011
I would highly recommend the Sandeman's New Europe free walking tour of Dublin. It isthe most worthwhile free tour one could ever do!

After going on the New Europe free walking tours of Berlin and London and finding them extremely informative, humorous and sociable i decided to go on the Dublin one. After all, i wanted to learn more about the city i live in. The tour guide was very shocked to see a Dublin-based person on the tour!

It was free (although the tur guides work purely on tips and they are so funny and friendly that i'd hope people would opt to tip them well enough), informative (you actually learn so much in the three hours it runs for.) and because the tour guides are young and mostly students they make it fun and they have funny little stories they tell.

It is a great way to spend three hours and you get to see a lot of the city. Also the guides are mostly from Dublin and are always open to suggesting places to eat, drink etc.

You can't go wrong with going on this tour.

I would usually tip about 5 or 6 euro but most people would tip about 4euro i'd say. I usually tip more because my friend has worked as one of these tour guides and apparently the company take 2euro off the guides per person that attended the tour
