New Bedford Vacation Guide
With a population of approximately 100,000, the City of New Bedford is the world’s most famous whaling era seaport and the number one fishing port in America. Some areas in the city are less than desirable, but what city doesn't have those spots. The cities downtown area is probably where it stands out the most. Downtown features many res taunts and cafes. It also hosts the New Bedford Whaling Meusium which is a great little muesium that tells the history of the city and hold huge, and complete whale skeletons, including a blue whale (the largest of all animals!) The city also has a wide variety of ethnic diversity. In the city you'll find countless Portuguese eateries many of which I've eaten in and Highly recommend. The city also has a recently redone zoo which would be great to take the kids to. I must also add that the city maintains its numerous parks very well, although some may not be in the best locations for the out of town visitor to well visit.
