Amazing bungy Jump - 2nd Highest in the world Mar 13, 2008
Very expensive but you get a free t-shirt. A 134 meter jump in a canyon, absolutely amazing. 8 second free fall, 100% safe, nothing else you need to know.
For $220 NZD they'll bus you out to the place, suit you up, and let you jump. One of my friends did a second jump when he was there for only $50 bucks, you just have to have some bargaining skills. What it is, is a big metal pod strung between 2 sides of a canyon that can hold about 20 people. Theres a little shaky cart thing which picks up about 5 people on one side and takes them to the pod, then you do your thing and come back. Definitely worth the money. |

8 sec drop from 134m on a rope? not for the light hearted Sep 01, 2007
Nevis Highwire Bungy by AJ Hackett - highest bungy jump in the southern hemisphere at a staggering 134m high.
It is located in a secluded valley between two cliffs. the jump pod is located in the middle of the valley, held to each cliff by cables. The only way to get the the jump pod is via cable car from the drop off point. The waiting game is nerve racking! It starts by getting harnessed at the drop off point. Even if you are a spectator you must be harnessed to enter on the cable car and into the jump pod. TBC.... Part of the New Zealand 2007 travel blog |

When we got back into town it was pouring with rain, Aimz and I had booked to go out and do the Nevis Highwire bungy jump, which, at 134m high, is the largest bungy in the souther hemisphere. The odds of being able to go out and do the bungy were looking meek with the guide coming over to speak to our group going out that they… A day of adrenalin and eventually, relaxation |
