The main reason we decided on taking this first tour was the fact that it would take us to Neuschwanstein Castle and give us a tour. Believe it or not, there are tours you can take that basically drive past and point i…

King Ludwig II was a great nature-lover. His greatest concern was not to spoil the beauty of the surroundings by building Neuschwanstein Castle, and he gave the builders precise instructions to this effect. As you approach the castle, it becomes clear just how well they succeeded. The view of Neusc…

This morning we are out of our room so early we could have had four breakfasts and still been on the bus on time. My husband said he slept fine under only the duvee, and didn’t awake until the alarm went off at 5:30am. Breakfast was good again this morning, with plenty of hot food ava…

God, what a over hyped castle which is a tourist trap! I am not joking. I was a bit shocked when I arrived in Neuschwanstein area with the amount of tourists, camper vans, resturants, bars and a mile long queue for the tickets. All it needed was Snow White and the seven dwarfs or tinkerbell to fly …

I took a USO tour down to the German Alps, and life is GUDT! I wish I would have checked out of my room on Ramstein and carried all my things down and ditched the tour for place down around Neuschwanstein and Oberammergau. If you are in that area I'd say do whatever you can to rent a bike and ride. That place is amazing and the pictures taken from the bus turn out like crap.

I'd taken this tour before. This castle is amazing! The sheer number of rooms boggles the mind. It's beautiful inside and out. The gleaming white stone stood stark against the brilliant blue sky the afternoon we went up. There are many trails and shortcuts up to the castle. This includes a nice pav…
