Neumeister's Candy Shoppe Travel Reviews

Death by Chocolates and a Whole Lot More! Feb 27, 2008
Are you a chocoholic? If so, Neumeister's Candy Shoppe is for you! Some of the best chocolate around! This little shop has roots going back to 1877 when David Neumeister began to sell chocolate and candies in his bakery. At that time, one could buy goodies for $.10 a pound!

Today, the shop is owned by Diana Hoover where she carried on the tradition built by the Neumeisters. Hand-dipped and hand-packed chocolates and candies are made without perservatives. You will also find gourmet cookies baked from scratch, and a coffee shop adjacent to relax and enjoy the treats. They also sell the Jelly Belly items and other fine candies and treats. Prices for the chocolates range from $11.95 per pound for the hand dipped creams to $12.95 per pound for nuts and other chocolate covered goodies. Old Fashioned Candies such as Hard Tac ($4.99 per lb.), Peanut Brittle ($6.99 per lb.), and Almond Toffee ($11.95 per pound) are available.

The homemade cookies are just like Grandma makes! Iced cutouts, chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, and molassas are just a sampling of the choices offered by Neumeister's.

Latte, cappacino, and speciality coffees and teas are a great soothing drink for those hectic days! The small, light area is a relaxing spot to read the newspaper, magazine, and just reflect on your day.

Diana and her staff will do tours, but you must call ahead. You might even be able to dip your own chocolate candy!

Neumeister's will do shipping. You can request your favorite candies and chocolates or let them create a mixture. Would like a mix of chocolates and cookies? No problem, just give them a call.

When in Upper Sandusky, Neumeister's Candy Shoppe is a "can't miss." Stop in and see what's there. Guaranteed - you will gain a couple pounds from the smell! Visit their website at www.neumeisterscandyshoppe.com.
