Yesterday, after spending the weekend in Leiden with a large group of TravBuddies, I managed to persuade Steve to come home with me to Meppel. (I had to fight Devika over him but I won, hahaha! :-P) We travelled to Meppel by train with Wendy and got home around 7pm. This was my first experience with this national holiday for Holland and I can honestly say that I will travel back again sometime in the future. Despite the fact that the city came vibrantly alive during these two days, this particular experience was made that much more pleasurable because of the people I had the opportunity to celebrate with.

I had breakfast again and left at 10 o’clock for the Vondelpark. It was less then a 5 minute walk. I took a lot of pictures there while walking around the park and headed back to the station. I remembered that Johan told me that there is also a flower market, which was closed last night, so I saw that first. They had really a lot of flowers there, and many, many bulbs. I didn't knew what to expect since it was my first meet-up but it's been a great experience! I'm already looking forward to the next one! Oh yeah, this blog can be concidered as mine and Sylvie's as she didn't used her own camera because her pics weren't looking clear enough. So she decided to use my camera as well :)
