After getting our stuff out of the room Mandy and I were ready to go back home. Downstairs we ran into Ante and Jeff wich was great so we could say goodbye properly then. They still had another day in Amsterdam left so that was nice! On the way back home people were actually staring at me since I kinda looked like a homeless person (and felt like one also) After travelling for 2,5 hours I was finally back in Uden. I told my dad to pick me up from the busstation. When he saw me he just laughe...

So it's 5:30 in the afternoon right now and I just came home 2 hours ago from a long train ride from Amsterdam. I wasn't really going to blog about the meet-up now since I have tons more of blogs lined up to do and it's going to take me until summer to finish them all up but I just couldn't resist the temptation of reliving all the crazy memories I had yesterday. I should actually be sleeping right now (I bet Lauro is) but I'm just glad that I had two mad hours of sleep or I'm proba...

Spring in The Netherlands
posted by:
Mar 03, 2008
At the end of last summer (2007), I bought a digital camera. Since then, I published an autumn blog and a winter blog. Fortunately, time keeps moving forward and winter changes into spring. In fact, the meteorological spring started March 1. Therefore, this blog is a celebration to spring.   Spring is a time of hope, promise and expectation. A time of rebirth, calf-love and youth. The flowers and the trees show signs of things to come: the careful forming of buds, the first ...

B and B Utrecht

On my last morning, the snow drifted down and made Utrecht look like a fairy tale.  It almost killed me to leave!  Of course, it had its comedy.  Showing Doug round, it got to about a centimetre and a half.  About three minutes after my brother commented how funny it would be if I fell over on the new ice, I fell flat on my hip and elbow.  It's christmas day now - the bruise on my thigh has turned an attractive shade of purple.  With yellow spots.  And it's ...

Honestly I really had no clue of what to expect from these meetups. I had decided in the last minute to fly to Amsterdam and meet some of my travbuddies, the people that I have been chatting with for awhile.  Being this was my first meetup I was excited to finally the people behind the photos, the blogs and the conversations. My trip got off to a rocky start when my flight got delayed (This was a running theme of this meetup) I finally found the Goodies bar that a bunch o...

Especially our capital Amsterdam should not be missed! Basic Info The Netherlands got it's name because of the location below sea-level! The Netherlands is a very flat and small country. Day 2 I was still feeling a little bit shaky but I made my way down to the bathroom and into the shower. I did hit every kitchen supply and piece of furniture on the way to it but that is okay. I was texting Guido every other minute wich made the ppl at the hostel go totally crazy but See if I care ;D. After a hot shower I decided to start walking towards the hostel where the others were instead of waiting for them to pick me up. I really needed some fresh air and could use the walk to sober...

To be honest I was sticking nervous about meeting the rest and didn't know what to expect. After a last checkup at the forum, seeing if everybody was on their way, I toke my car and drove up to Amsterdam. To be honest, it's a place I don't prefer to come, because I'm from Rotterdam and it just don't click between those two city's. Their is quit some rivalry between ou...

She went to visit the patch (I think this is the word) of land we bought for them, but nothing had happened there, just some trees were cut down and that was it. So Nel asked them about it! The answer they got was that they had been eating very well. wich my youngest brother told them half smiling.. Conclusion to all...

AMSTERDAM TRAVBUDDY MEETUP   Saturday, January 26, was one of the most dynamic and diverse days in my life.   Early that morning, I conducted a graveside funeral service just outside of Amsterdam for one of my friends from England who lived his final five years in the Netherlands. At the end of the ceremony, I had the honor of praying with five individuals who made a decision to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.   From there, I caught a train to ...
