Nesna consists of three small islands, tomma, hugla and handnesoya all of which are connected to the peninsula, Nesna by the ferry. Nesna itself is a charming little village (pop. 1900) with fairly old houses and quite a few students, since this is the place to go if you want to become a teacher ( Nesna university college). Nesna is also a stop for hurtigruta, the ferry that covers more than two thirds of Norways coastline.

Dønna was separated from Nesna July 1, 1888.   The municipality is divided on three islands (Tomma,Hugla and Handnesøya) and one peninsula that bears the name of the munici...

Aanleggen in Nesna
